Powder coating and galvanizing: how to protect metal from rust
Rust is metal's main enemy, especially in the damp Latvian climate. The right surface treatment decides whether a product lasts 3 years or 30. Let us look at the two main methods.
Galvanizing
Hot-dip galvanizing covers steel with a zinc layer that protects the metal even when scratched. It is the best choice for outdoor structures — fences, gates and canopies.
Powder coating
Powder paint is applied electrostatically and baked in an oven, forming a tough, smooth finish in any RAL colour. It is more durable than ordinary paint and does not peel.
- Galvanizing — maximum anti-corrosion protection
- Powder coating — colour, durability and looks
- Both together — galvanize, then coat = the best protection
The best result comes from the combination: galvanize first, then powder coat. The structure is then protected from both sides.
How we work
For every project we recommend the most suitable treatment depending on where the product will be used. Ask us which protection fits your case.
